A new alkaloid (1) and two known compounds (2 and 3) were isolated from the blue-greenalga Arthrospira platensis. Their structures were determined on the basis of spectroscopic data.According to the obtained data and values in the literature, the compounds were concluded to beeckol.

A novel C-homoprotoberberine alkaloid, Hediamine (2), has been isolated from the roots of Berberis actinucantha (Berberidaceae). Conclusive proof for the structure of hediamine was obtained by its comparison with the isomeric lactam (4), by chemical transformation, and by means of spectroscopic techniques (UV, IR, MS, NMR).

A new cyclohexenone compound was isolated as a mixture of enantiomers from a culture filtrate of Lasiodiplodia theobromae.
